Group Classes
Tarot in Motion is a system developed by Miriam Jacobs to create expressive dances that have both individual and universal meanings based on pulled Tarot cards. Related symbols on the cards serve as a structure for movement pieces that encourage you to come into your body, change patterns, and deepen realizations while having fun. One on One Sessions
This is your private one on one session with me (Miriam). It will be planned for your needs. You will get to pull cards, get a reading, and create a movement piece structured by your cards. I may join you in dancing mirroring your moves, converse as you are moving and other times I may just witness. Your session may include some hands-on or virtual bodywork.
- Gain more body awareness
- Change old patterns
- Come to sudden realizations
What to expect:
Warm-up – stretching and free form dancing
Sitting together – a sitting meditation
Intention setting – What is on your mind? What would you like to change? How can the question be reframed in an empowering way?
Pull a card(s) and interpret – With clarity and query in mind, we will read the cards interpreted and discussed.
Planning – Cards give you ideas to plan and develop a movement piece. You are encouraged to play, use music, instruments, props, and costumes.
Witnessing – You will share your movement piece.
Regrouping – We will discuss what occurred. Suggestions are possibly made to continue your discoveries.

As a basis for meaningful choreography
Professional dancers break free from previous training.
Most of us may have never thought of making up their own dance or a short theatrical piece to be witnessed, let alone from a Tarot card. There is something profound and healing that happens when dances are made from the Tarot in Motion system.
Individuals will use pulled Tarot cards as a basis to create new material. Since the Tarot expresses a range of archetype experiences, the speak to the questioner on a personal level, movement pieces will have to be deeply subjective, yet speak to a broad audience. We will share and discuss our dances and use choreographic devices for evolving your content into a solo or group performance.
