In the class right before Thanksgiving, the card I chose to create a movement piece for was The Tower, which indicates chaos and a total breakdown. To tell you the truth I was kind of embarrassed because as the teacher, wasn’t I suppose to exemplify strength and balance? I also knew that at the core of The Tower is victory and survival.
There was nothing more that I could than to dance it out and be witnessed. Although I felt vulnerable, creating a movement piece, helped me embody the Tower disruptions and more importantly, I really experienced the magic of Tarot in Motion for myself. I also remembered that at the core of The Tower is victory and survival.
Looking back a week later, I believe having my dance witnessed, augmented the effects of a much needed holiday weekend.
It is funny, because a few weeks before as part of the Dancing in Costumes class, I chose and danced The Wheel of Fortune, perhaps receiving the Tower is part of the Wheel turning….
This piece was caught on camera.
