if a little misunderstood let me explain.
PWT is based on a classic Tarot deck. The difference is that the cards include a Polarity Energy-Person icon to highlight areas of where in the body to focus attention. Additionally, Color-coded symbols on the top of each card integrate astrological, chakra, elemental and type of touch attributes. By fusing these systems Tarot becomes more than a divination tool.
PWT images are not illustrations of goddesses with tiny waist and long flowing hair or cutesy cartoon images. Sorry that’s just not me. The images are funky digital collages.
The container/foundation of my healing arts work is the elemental modality of Polarity Therapy, a profound holistic health care system that balances life energy in the body. Polarity is based on the five universal elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth). The elements are easily translated into Tarot suits. Polarity Therapy addresses bodywork, nutrition, exercises and a communication component. It was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, a chiropractor, osteopath, and naturopath. Dr. Stone traveled the world to discover different methods of healing and found that energy was the source of healing all disease.
Polarity’s communications component, matches peoples voice qualities and what the client is saying with the elements, therefore with the Tarot suits. When I was inspired to include Tarot in my bodywork sessions, I found the brief readings help my clients differentiate and integrate their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. This led to healing and change. I soon realized there was a more expansive and expressive way to use the Tarot. This is what inspired me to create this unique and comprehensive deck.
Incorporate a practice from a particular card(s) that you are drawn to into your daily mindful practice. Major Arcana cards have meditative practices. Minor Arcana cards have yoga-like exercises and Court cards have art practices.
Accompanying the deck is a User Guide (with Stephanie Swafford) that contains concise card meanings with suggested mind body practices to balance and integrate the lessons of the Tarot.
