In looking back at 2014, I am grateful for many things, especially for having released “Tarot and the Chakras”. I am also remembering my love for Polarity Therapy.
The founder of Polarity Therapy, Dr. Randolph Stone, DO, DC, ND, (1890-1981), is one of the most amazing people I’ve ever come across. He looked at the body as a whole way before it was ever popular and encouraged people to do yoga back in the 1950’s &‘60’s.
Stone’s comprehensive writings mainly consists of five books in two volumes. Polarity Therapy – The Complete Collected Works (there is a huge body of articles still being transcribed by his disciples).
Although, Polarity does not refer to psychic or magical like Tarot, both look at life as a spiritual journey.
Stone referenced the mind a lot, which has influenced the advice/suggestions I give in my readings in a rational way. Integrating both systems to universal elements, astrology and chakras helps make the connection too.
Here are some quotes from Stone where he mentions the mind-
“Our mind conditions our experience. Each individual has his own mind substance which he impresses with thought patterns, much the same as we sow seeds in the earth….”
“We are here to learn to govern our own mind and its vast powers, and to observe the life and all its phases.”
“When we honestly face life and all its problems with an open mind, we understand that whatever we are reaping in life we have sown sometime in the past, and whatever we are doing now will be harvested sometime in the future.”
And my favorite:
“Right thinking is the highest form of Polarity.”
A way to gain awareness of our minds is through a Tarot reading and then a meditation that relates to the cards, to help us govern our own minds.
“Tarot and the Chakras” suggest mediations based on cards that are chosen.
Basic Meditation Practice
Start by visualizing either the Crown or the Earth Chakra.
Scan your Chakras individually in succession. Spend about 15–30 seconds at each Chakra.
Take note if there is a particular Chakra that seems stuck or hard to imagine or feel.
Go back to the Chakra that you had trouble with and focus on ways to get it to spin. Try a clockwise and counter clockwise spin. Try sending it light, or pull energy from its neighboring Chakras.
