Miriam Jacobs holds a BFA from SUNY Buffalo, NY (’76). She ran arts programs in NYC before beginning her formal healing arts studies in 1994. Always a spiritual seeker, Miriam has been reading Tarot cards for over 30 years.

Now residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, Miriam is an energy-based bodyworker, Tarot card reader, and teacher. She ran Polarity programs in California from 1998 to 2006 and in Utah from November 2005 to June 2006. Additionally, she has been a guest instructor at the MIT in Carmel, CA.

Miriam has presented at several Polarity conferences, including Chicago, IL (’05), Mt. Madonna, CA (’14), and Oxfordshire, England (’16). She has also lectured at the Northwest Tarot Symposium in Portland, OR (’15).

Observing similarities between Polarity Therapy and Tarot, Miriam began incorporating brief Tarot card readings into her bodywork sessions. This led to the creation of the first somatic Tarot deck, the Polarity Wellness Tarot, a powerful tool to enhance all body-mind disciplines. She authored the award-winning book “Tarot and the Chakras: Opening New Dimensions to Healers.” 

Committed to supporting change, Miriam studied various somatic dance modalities, including Anna Halprin’s work, Continuum Movement, and 5Rhythms. This exploration led to the development of Tarot in Motion, a practice that allows participants to embody inner wisdom by creating mindful movement pieces inspired by pulled Tarot cards. Her book, “Tarot in Motion: A Handbook to Embody the Wisdom of the Cards,” emerged from this innovative approach.
